Once upon a time Roughside issued a challenge, called "First Kill". This is what I wrote for them. Be warned: its very dark, and contains many squicks

Gods... it's been ages again that I wrote here!
Wouldn't blame anybody on giving up on reading here, but I've been really, really depressed lately. Once again, my fellow countrymen have made me ashamed of my nationality: 25 percent voted Vlaams Blok (local fascists). I can't understand the idiocy of those people - didn't they learn their lesson during the 30's-40's - or, if they're younger, did they learn nothing in school during history lessons? Didn't their parents warn them about the dangers of demagogues with simple, easy solutions for complicated problems?? it's beyond me, the empty-headedness of most people...
anyway, that really hurt me, and my still failing health doesn't help much either. BUT I did manage to finish my entry for the Dusk to Dawn fifth wave, though I am not really sure it's up to par. It's called " How Severus Snape became a teetotaller", it's HP/SS, NC17; and you can read it here, if you want to :l

ookaaay... so I've got the new computer, I've got a great challenge, so why the!çà&é"( can't I write? I don't know, it just doesn't flow - my Harry is god forbid a Gary Stu, my Lucius whines - it's pathetic. I'll never get my entry ready on time, think I'll have to let them know I give up.

wandered into this, and it does explain a lot...
You are the grammar Fuhrer. All bow to your authority. You will crush all the inferior people under the soles of your jackboots, and any who question your motives will be eliminated. Your punishment is being the bane of every other person's existence, because you're constantly contradicting stupidity. Everyone will be gunning for you. Your dreams of a master race of spellers and grammarians frighten the masses. You must always watch your back. If only your power could be used for good instead of evil.

Remember the computer problems I was having? Welll, they kept getting worse until the cursed thing didn't work at all anymore. Fun! No more computer, and I hadn't been making back-ups from the stories I was writing as faithfully as I should have, which set me back pages and pages of perfectly good plot and smut (in about equal proportions).
Sooo, after a private little rant (very little destruction, very little shouting, and only a few tears) off to the computer store we went. Saw what I liked/needed; convinced SO that THIS was the ideal computer, and ordered it. We're two weeks later now, and the new, better (hopefully) computer is up and running. Yay!
All that's left to do now, is rewrite my stories, and, horror of horrors, make a new Access-file with all my music so I can find back where what song is stored. Shouldn't be much work, I've got about 500 LP's, and about 700 cassette tapes to input, which boils down to (guesstimate, counting on 10 songs average per record) 50.000 entries. Perhaps I'll be finished by next year ;-(
Still, mustn't whine, there's writing to be done, I missed the deadline for Woobies, must make sure I do make it for the next two.
And, oh hell, i managed to forget to put my hpmpreg-story here. My deepest apologies, I'll do so now. Its called Two Weddings and a funeral, and you'll find it here: ( Read more... )and here, for part 2: ( Read more... )

... for letting me write again - and with a vengeance. I've started no less than three FQF entries, and inbetween managed a (shortish) sequel to Sweet Surrender.

Let it be universally known: lantana hates the Belgian weather. I have every reason to. Beginning of February: lovely weather, up to 17 ° Celsius, early spring you might think. In fact, so did nature itself: sprouting lilies, budding roses and clematis, blooming Kerria and crocuses, birds singing mating songs... my garden was lovely.
WAS.
For the past week, it's been freezing at night, and the past two days there's been snow. Ten centimeters of snow on budding roses et al, no more amourous birdsongs but birds hungrily picking at the luckily still laden feeding plank in my garden... don't tell me I have to like it.
Got so angry it finally got me writing again - that's the positive side of it.
Read it here, it's a HP/LV Valentine & chocolate challenge. ( Read more... )

Oh boy. I really have been out of things, haven't I? My health letting me down (again), my computer slowly falling apart (now it thinks its harddrive has shrunk from 20 to 2 giga, go figure), my SO heavily depressed... All in all, I've been lucky to keep my mailbox from getting completely flooded, it's hovering around the 90 pct mark as it is. Writing, and LJ just seemed less of a priority, somehow? BUT I'M BACK!!!

very odd ... my garden has lost it completely... Here we are, near December, and I've got flowering strawberries, flowering roses and lavender, chrysantemums and Jasminum Nudiflorem (which should be flowering through winter).Very odd... all those flowers, and the floor covered with red and yellow leaves...

Thanks for the support, people. Glad to say I AM getting abit better - at least I can take my pills again, so the pain isn't so bad anymore. Yay! Perhaps I even can start writing again soon! Gods, I miss that - and even worse, I've been letting people down. I promised to write for some FQF's, but alas... Still, once I do get started, I'll send them the late entry, and hope to be forgiven...
Oh, and I also did this:
 YOU ARE ETHER!
Well, well... you are the mysterious Fifth Element! The Fifth Element, Ether, is used or conjured in many ancient religions or magics, but is not something found on this plane. Those that have been able to make the ascension to the Ether are truly evolved people, possessed with heightened senses of intelligence, perception, and empathy that others simply don't have. Everyday possessions aren't of much interest - you are beyond that. You tend to gravitate to open spaces, changing environments, and won't saddle yourself with one style or decision. Indeed, just one type of career isn't of interest to you either, as your need to constantly continue evolving and growing won't allow you to settle down. Sadly, this need may also impact your social life as well. You tend to have few friends as not many people understand you, and fewer relationships because you simply outgrow them.
Don't be discouraged by this, though. You are truly one of the unique, for very few people have been able to achieve this type of enlightenment. Be proud and use your knowledge and experiences to teach and help others as much as you can. Good luck and congratulations!
Now that you have an idea of your strengths and weaknesses, why don't you put them to the test? If you follow my lead I can take you to a game world where you can explore different sides of yourself and taste real power. Just follow my lead, enter a name...
...and all the world can be yours.

Sooo... have had some problems lately. My health is letting me down sadly. My back has made me suffer since I was 18 - nothing new there, but the arthritis has now spread to my hands, dammit. They hurt a lot, and I'm just too young for this kind of thing. ç!à&é"è!ç(', 41 isn't an age to start having visions of Singing Detective-type of hands; or have nightmares about wheelchairs. The pills I've got help somewhat, but surprise, surprise, they aren't very good for the stomach. Last week, consequently, I've been diagnosed with ulcers. Little, bleeding ones - and a lot of them. So, no more pills for the time being. Life sucks - and not in a good way (unlike the stories I'm dreaming up, but can't type out). Sorry to rant like this, but I'm getting a bit depressed by it all.

Your Bush is MR. HAT!
His head nods and his arms wave...but whenever he moves, you're lookin' to see whose hand is up his butt. You're not entirely sure which man is behind the curtain; but you're mortally certain that the Great and Powerful Oz not only can't get you home, he can't even find his own way to the White House briefing room.
